'Field of Dreams' exhibition comes to Leytonstone
The Wanstead Flats Working Group of L&LHS and Eastside Community Heritage have collaborated to produce an exhibition that opened last year at Wanstead Library and has toured various locations in east London. The exhibition comes to Leytonstone during Festival week and will be on display in St. John's Church during the following times:- Saturday 5th July 2.00 - 4.30 pm; Monday 7th 10.00 am - 4.00 pm; Tuesday 8th 10.00 am - 4.00 pm and 7.30 pm - 9.30 pm; Thursday 10th 2.30 - 4.00 pm; Friday 11th 10.00 am - 4.00 pm.
Save the Flats Debate
As part of the Festival L&LHS and Eastside Community History are collaborating in staging a repeat of the public debate that took place at the time. This will be on Wednesday 9th July, 7.30 pm at St. John's church hall. Admission free. There will also be 1940s food and drink available. 'Field of Dreams' exhibition
As part of the 'Field of Dreams' Wanstead Flats project, Eastside Community Heritage is launching an exhibition to celebrate Wanstead Flats as a valued open space.
The event will be opened by Wendy Mead, Chairman of the Epping Forest & Commons Committee, and takes place on Saturday 10th May 2008, 3pm to 4pm at Wanstead Library, Spratt Hall Road, Wanstead, London E11 2RQ.

Woodford Festival
A new Woodford Festival will be held Saturday October 4th to Sunday 12th October 2008. It will include a walk and talk organised by Woodford Historical Society, and other events of interest to those who delight in the heritage of this part of outer London. LLHS opens new oral history website
LLHS member David Boote has created a new website called The Bottom Drawer: recollections, photos and memorabilia of Leyton and Leytonstone. The site can be seen at http://www.leytonpast.info/.
